The Form is Nonexistence, and Nonexistence is the Form

Bamboo, thread, sand, wood

47.24' × 31.5' × 59.06'

This work stems from philosophical reflections on the reality of existence triggered by the emergence of modern technologies such as the metaverse in the age of information technology. Silicon-based computers transform intangible digital codes into vivid and colorful virtual worlds.
Sand, composed of silicon dioxide, serves not only as the material source for computer chips but also mirrors the characteristics of computer code in its nature: discrete and intangible in isolation, yet forming tangible entities when aggregated. The piece uses a digital matrix formed by sand to depict a process where meaningful information aggregates into a human form, while irrelevant information scatters and disperses. This aims to provoke philosophical contemplation on the authenticity of reality and the existence of autonomous consciousness, articulated through the virtual figure in the work, which poses the question, "WHO CONTROLS FATE GOD OR YOURSELF"
This philosophical inquiry resonates with the Buddhist tenet from the Heart Sutra, "The Form is Nonexistence, and Nonexistence is the Form," hence the title of the piece.
