About Me.
Qingfang Liu, a young artist born in 2006 in Shandong, grew up immersed in folk arts, where she learned that art arises from life and culture. Through ongoing fieldwork on intangible cultural heritage, she seeks ways to connect history with the present via traditional crafts. Often using “handcraft” as a method, her work weaves traditional aesthetics into critical contemporary expression, addressing current social topics. She focuses on how intangible humanistic spirit can be carried through tangible skills, and continues to blend installation, video, and mixed media in her cross-media practice, trying to create an ongoing dialogue between tradition and the future. Her works have received multiple awards internationally, and through exhibitions and practice, she has gradually developed a unique artistic language that builds a tangible, felt scene between cultural memory and modernity.
